What can I do with these elements?

Right now - each element is a progress marker. Unlocking one means you've reached a new level (every level grants 100 XP). You can tap any unlocked tile to read the Researcher's Log: the real-life story of who first found it and how.

What's coming - we're building a "spend an element" mechanic so you can trade an unlocked element for a hint on a tricky quiz question. Shipping with the next major release. The elements you've unlocked today will count as your starting hint stockpile.

Not gameification for its own sake - the loop is "show your effort, earn something useful, choose when to spend it." We want both bits of that to feel honest.
